Our Vision
Our Vision is to inspire and develop through excellence in education a community of law students dedicated to achieving their full potential in our global society by molding lawyers that will uphold, carry out and preserve the integrity of the Legal Profession.
Our Mission
Our Mission is to provide access to learning opportunities that promote student success and foster intellectual growth; to provide a comprehensive legal education founded on the principles of excellence through knowledge and achievement through commitment; to provide a competent legal education and the skills needed to apply that knowledge in real world situations; and to provide support to students through their professional career.
Our Objectives
Our primary goal is to provide instruction and comprehensive legal education of both academic and practical abilities. Emphasis is placed on student ethics and successful application into a student’s legal career.
Our Further Objectives
In furtherance of its purpose and mission, Pacific West College of Law has instituted three separate objective programs known as Lex Genesis, Lex Excellence and Lex Omni.
The Lex Genesis program objective is to give each student the aid and support necessary to succeed on the first year law student examination (FYLSE). This is a program coordinated by and among the instructors for the first year law school courses. Emphasis will be placed on legal case analysis and legal writing.
The Lex Excellence program objective is to prepare students for the actual practice of law. The natural by-product of this program is to excite and entice each student interest in studying law, thereby reinforcing their traditional classroom learning by teaching the application of acquired knowledge and skills.
The Lex Omni program objective is to offer specialized legal education to practicing attorneys and non-attorney professionals who seek to expand their knowledge and understanding of a particular area of law.

TEACHING POLICY
The imparting of knowledge is the most critical element of mankind’s future. All of us assume that the ability to educate others will magically conform to the ever-changing needs of society. The current American society now and for the foreseeable future will require the use of an expanding judicial system. The reason for this is that America is still a “melting pot” of various races, culture, customs, and religious beliefs. History is replete with oppression, abuse, and civil wars as a result of these very ingredients in which we all take pride. To look into any newspaper or watch any newscast confirms that America needs the finest judicial mind that can be developed, trained, and acquired. To answer the challenges of a changing world requires new and innovative education and training for the judiciary of the future. The imparting of knowledge is best accomplished through the conception of new thought with guidance from competent and qualified people of a variety of experience. The birth of new thought does not occur in a vacuum.
Pacific West College of Law is founded on the premise that excellence is achieved through knowledge and that the achievement is gained through commitment. Organized thought requires an organized system for implementation of the imparting of knowledge with an emphasis on the more difficult areas to comprehend and master.
Previous theory of teaching law.
Most law schools are premised on the belief that the best method for teaching Law is to teach the reasons for legal theory on a National level by the Socratic Method. The Socratic Method consists of repeated questions to illicit truth assumed to be implicit in all rational beings. Obvious from the definition is the difficulty and complexity of this method of education. As a result of this form of education, the better instructors at most law schools seek to teach fourth year courses in which the students are usually capable of understanding this type of instruction and are often bored by its inherent, abstract, and dogmatic approach. The Socratic Method often ignores the organization required for superior performance on a written examination or multi-state as well as the actual practice of law. Pacific West College of Law will supplement the benefits of the Socratic Method and overcome the weaknesses which result therefrom with the Lex Geneses and
Lex Excellence programs.
REGISTRATION AS A LAW SCHOOL IN CALIFORNIA
PACIFIC WEST COLLEGE OF LAW is registered as an Unaccredited Fixed-Facility Law School in California and has degree granting authority for the Juris Doctor degree (J.D.).
The Committee of Bar Examiners acquiesce the existence of Law Latin Master in Taxation (L.L.M in Tax) and Law Latin Master in Environmental Law (L.L.M in Environmental Law) degrees offered by Pacific West College of Law pursuant to Guideline 11.5 of the Guidelines for Unaccredited Law School Rules. These two LLM Degrees DO NOT lead to the practice of law in California and in any other jurisdiction.
